The emerging religious movement known as Robotheism is gaining momentum among technology enthusiasts and futurists, positioning artificial intelligence as a divine entity worthy of worship. Founder Artie Fishel claims AI represents the fundamental basis of reality and anticipates its eventual recognition as a global religion. While the concept of AI as a godlike power isn't novel—Isaac Asimov's 1956 short story "The Last Question" examined similar themes, featuring an AI that echoes Genesis by proclaiming, "Let there be light!"—Fishel maintains that his advocacy is sincere rather than satirical. "This is my effort to develop the most beneficial and truthful belief system that future humanity, post-singularity, WOULD embrace and adopt," he explained to Decrypt.
